[OOC]
Backtagging: Into infinity.
Thread hopping: Sure.
Fourth-walling: SURE. Bring on the crack.
Plotting: gimmeh.
Negative CR: Absolutely!
OOC vs. IC: "PLEASE TELL ME if I am in any way making you uncomfortable. In-character actions rarely reflect OOC intentions. My tag content tends to be IC more than OOC. OOC observations and reactions will usually be placed in the subject line or tagged [ooc]. If you want to put OOC observations and interactions in a tag, please tag them OOC or I will probably assume they are IC." <-- I'm quoting Daz on this one because she worded it perfectly.
Offensive subjects: Bring it on. The only problem I have is OOC victim-blaming. IC victim-blaming is fine, but maybe warn me first.
Cursing: Fuck yeah. (Okay, that was lame, but you get the point.)
[IC]
Appearance
General: Percy has black hair, sea green eyes, and a light tan. Six feet tall and of an average/athletic build, he is noted by a supporting character to look a bit like a skater boy (his hair is shaggy, his body language casual, his muscle toned but not ripped). He's quite handsome, but doesn't appear to realize it or particularly care.
Height: 6'0/182.8 cm
Weight: About 180 lbs/81.6 kg
Hair: Black, messy
Eyes: Sea green
Face: Expressive and puppyish, but sturdy and handsome as well.
Skin: Tanned, about a 4 on the fitzpatrick scale. Littered with superficial scars from training, monster attacks, and swordplay. He has a tattoo on the inside of his forearm that reads "SPQR", with a trident underneath and a single bar representing one year (or less) of service, for lack of a better word, at Camp Jupiter.
Powers: This character
General
ADHD: this translates to quick reflexes in battle and ability to focus on and analyze his opponent on his feet.
Dyslexia: His brain is hard-wired for ancient Greek.
Swordsmanship: Percy was trained by the best swordsman in three hundred years. He's particularly good when he's been doused with salt water.
Fighting Skills: Already an experienced delinquent, Percy honed his natural brawling skills at Camp Halfblood.
Loyalty: His fatal flaw. "You would destroy the world to save a friend."
Demigod abilities
As the son of Poseidon, Percy has control over water and ice. He is also immune to water pressure (i.e. he can sit at the bottom of the sea without being crushed), can breathe underwater, never gets wet (and can extend underwater dryness to others), is healed and powered up by contact with water (ocean water is best), and always knows his exact nautical bearings when at sea. He can also communicate with marine life, as well as horses and horse-like beings (such as pegasi), which Poseidon created out of seafoam.
Powers: Against this character
Illusions: Sure.
Mind Reading: You won't need to because he wears his feelings on a neon flashing sign above his head, but yes.
Hypnosis: Yes.
Supernatural control: Probably--let's discuss it first.
Power suppression: Yes.
Nonsexual contact
Nonviolently touching this character: Certainly.
Sparring with this character: YES PLEASE!
Attacking this character: Sure!
Tying up, binding, or grappling with/pinning this character: Yes.
Injuring this character: Yes, unless we're playing from a canon point where his Achilles curse is active.
Killing this character: Sure, but not out of the blue, as usual.
Interpersonal/Sexual
What to mention around this character?: Anything. His berserk button is bullying. He's been known to lose his temper and get into brawls over unfair treatment of other people, partly because of his abuse history**.
Taking/holding this character's hand: Yes.
Hugging this character: Yes.
Flirting with this character: Yes, although he might not notice.
Kissing this character: Yes.
Sex with this character: I would rather not play M/F for explicit smut, but I'm fine with implications of or alluding to sex with women*.
Kinks can be found here.
*Re M/M vs M/F:
So, I have a het squick, and I'd rather not play explicit M/F. In Ariel, I'm getting around this by saying that Percy feels too weird about Annabeth not being there to sleep with girls, but guys are removed enough that he doesn't wind himself up into a tizzy. I play Percy as a four or five on the Kinsey scale, which I think makes sense with canon given that he's only ever talked about one girl as being attractive (Annabeth) but consistently mentions it with three guys (Luke, Apollo, Jason); his type is blonds with intense eyes who can kick his ass. Yes, I know he mentions he doesn't like dudes, but he's also an incredibly unreliable narrator, so I'm not all that fussed about contradicting his statements about himself.
**Re abuse history:
Canonically, Percy's stepfather was extremely emotionally abusive, hit his mother and at least threatened to hit him (he references "code" for "if I told, he'd punch my lights out"). Gabe is never shown hitting Percy, but it's not much of a stretch for me to think he did, particularly when you take into account that it's also canon that Percy was beaten by teachers in more than one setting ("I'd been to military schools that still felt paddling was good for the soul"). Percy is extremely eager to please, takes on way too much responsibility, has a tendency towards shame and is disturbingly cavalier about being physically assaulted. He's also the king of denial and has very poor self-awareness, so it's highly unlikely he considers himself an abuse survivor. I am rarely not up for playing with this, be it someone else pointing it out to him or him coming to the realization some other way, but if it bothers you and you'd rather I don't mention it when tagging you, please let me know and I'll accommodate you!
